The Subtle Art of Not Giving A F*ck - Book review

Let me start by explaining what counterintuitive exactly means, it is an idea that is contradictory to something that we believe logically or reasonably.

Mark Mason is a blogger and a good one I must agree...I didn't know about him until I read this book...but dude his blogs are awesome you must surely check it out!
The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is a self-help guide, not the traditional one for sure... it is written in a very unconventional manner.. it has a very casual tone to it..more like you are talking to a person next door named Mark who is supposedly a self-help blogger...This is also one of the reasons this book comes across some negative reviews...The other one being, that everyone is driven by different paths as far as a life approach is concerned
I am that kind of a person who feels motivated when someone puts a mirror in front of me and tells me what is wrong with things I might have done...or Constructive Criticism to put it in better words, And this book surely helps me. If you have a similar approach as me then you must go for it...
Let's get on to what the book consists of ...
It is perfectly divided into 9 chapters, but the book emphasizes mainly on 3-4 central ideas.
one of it being " Give fewer f*cks about things that don't matter...then and only then you can give better f*cks about things that truly matter"...F*ck(being Mark's favorite word) is repeated more often in these 212 pages of a self-help novel,
Getting back to the thought...you must know where your time, energy, efforts are being utilized, wait for a moment while being in the course of action ask yourself "Is this thing really important right now...if it isn't don't f*cking do it!!". But now the question arises  Dude,  how do I know what is important?... how do I know if certain a thing is f*ckworthy or not?....
The answer is self-awareness...Mark has explained it in a very impressive way...
He says self-awareness is an onion it has layers to it and more you peel the more you cry...
The first layer being, understanding emotions and accepting that its okay to feel a certain way(acceptance is a virtue that can solve half of your life problems!!!!
The Second layer is asking yourself why?? why do you feel that way...Why do you react that way
and The Third one is our personal values...why do I consider this a success or failure? By what standard am I judging myself and the people around me?
This is one of the main ideas of most self-help books but the way Mark has written it, it stayed in my memory forever.
Another idea that remained with me was, " It is all about struggle..."
It is emphasized in a better way in another book "Life purpose-Mark Manson"(you can get a free e-book from his blog; I'll link his blog at the end of this article!!) where he clearly mentions that most of us just like the idea of earning a million dollars, having a fit body, being famous, or whatever it may be...but do we really care to struggle to get it, do we really work that hard and consistently to have a million dollars in our bank accounts, do we care to wake up early and exercise, do we really care to interact efficiently with people...
do we?? Are we ready to struggle...Can we get all our shit together and achieve what we really dream of having!!!...(Think it Through)
The book ends with a chapter titled ...And then you die
It holds a beautiful saying by Bukowski" Were all going to die, all of us. What a circus!!, That alone should make us love each other, but it doesn't, We are terrorized and flattened by life's trivialities; we are eaten up by nothing"
Isn't it true!!..
This is one of my absolute favorite self-help books, I return to it again and again..it adequately serves me, what I am looking for...
It is a must-have book; Even if you are not a sort of a reader.

THE LAST LECTURE- Randy Pausch, Jeffrey Zaslow : Book review

This is one of those genres I don't particularly read....Biographies. They do teach you a lot... But this book has changed my opinion on the genre rather on my life..

I really Wish I could tell you.....ohh I just did!!!

(They say don't judge a book by its cover but if the cover is this beautiful let's take a moment to appreciate it.)  Let me start by accepting the fact that I am a huge Durjoy Datta fan...but this is an honest review and I have tried to not be prejudiced towards it. Also, its fun to read a Hindi/desi(as they say) author and not have those alien names thrown to your face right away. The story mainly twirls around two youngsters having different perspective over life and two totally different past experiences but however, they end up in the same spot in the end. Ananth Khatri, a sweet innocent person who derives pleasure by helping a person in need. On the other hand, is Anusha Sardana a girl with a rough & painful past which leads her to think that the whole world is full of selfish people who will remain in your lives until their purpose is served. Anusha is an artist, a writer...she started developing a story but lacked a character with personality... Both these characte...
